It had been a cold day in the realm, with the wind from the South East blustering and making life really quite unpleasant.

Our Knight, Sir Trevor had set forth at first light, on his silver steed, Beamer. He had to report first to one of the Lords of the Privy Purse. Unfortunately, Sir Trevor had failed to arrange that his normal lines of communication via his little box were open, having inadvertantly left it back at the castle. This had caused Lady Cheryl great consternation.

Having to rush from one task to another, our Lady could not wait for the safe return of her Knight. Seeking solace from the madness around her, she retired to the kitchen, and busied herself preparing a favourite dish of Sir Trevor's

Soon the aromas of Steak and Kidney Pie filled the castle, and those who were lucky to pass by outside, titivated by these aromas, hastened home to prepare for themselves this traditional meal.

Our team the Proteas, once more took to the field, in order to continue with the tournament. We were to tourney against the island Kingdom of St. George. They carried the banners of the Red Cross on purest white.

This time it was with much pride at stake, as it was against the Kingdom who had once ruled our fair land. There was no doubt that they generally thought of us as inferior to them in many ways.

Still it had to be noted, that inferior they may brand us,but, their own Lead Knight, hails from our Kingdom. It would appear that none from their own Kingdom was of sufficient skill to fill the post. Of a certainty it was felt by many of our citizens that he was a traitor, and as such should be punished.
Later in the day, after all our Knights had been defeated, our Lead Knight, Sir Graham, stood alone, badly wounded in the leg. Our team had to concede defeat. It rankled deeply that the Knights of St. George were most unchivalrous in refusing to allow another Knight to take the place of our injured Sir Graham.
Sir Trevor and Lady Cheryl retired to bed, dismayed that our heroic team had been vanquished and would take no more part in the tournament.

Lady Cheryl had departed early in the morning for her weekly pampering at Hairven. Leaving Sir Trevor behind, she felt no guilt at all. On arriving at Hairven, she met with the Lady Rose, who perchance happened to be there at the same time.

Lady Rose, was having her tresses adorned, prior to a ball she was attending to honour outstanding artists and entertainers in the Kingdom. Lady Cheryl felt a pang of nostalgia, as she remembered the time her own dear, Sir Trevor had himself been honoured with this award. Called after a songbird, the Loerie, it was many an entertainers dream to own one.
Returning later in the day to Sir Trevor in the castle, she recalled all of the many reasons she had fallen in love with this Knight of many accomplishments.

Sir Trevor and Lady Cheryl, set out together on a quest seeking for a way to light up the castle gardens.

Sir Trevor deemed this to be entirely necessary, as his love was fond of perambulating around the garden at eventide. She believed the fragrance of her favourite herbs, roses, sweetpeas and all the rest of the flowers in that wondrous garden were the most intense and best enjoyed at eventide.

Sir Trevor worried that his love might trip and fall, doing herself an injury in the dim light, had thus made the decision to light up the garden naturally. Knowing that Lady Cheryl had no timeor place for the unatural, in her beloved garden, believing it would upset the Faeri Folke who were known to be quite tricksty, and would certainly plot some mischief or another in retaliation.

There is another tourney taking place in the Kingdom. This one is to take place over the coming two weeks. It is to honour a single sport, one that has a team of eleven Knights, a single round object and a wooden baton. There can be only one team who will win. This team will bring great honour to their respective Kingdom.

Our Kingdom's team were named after the flowers that grew nowhere else in the world, the Proteas. Yesterday they did battle against the Blackcaps, and a victory was imperative, national pride was at stake, as it fell on National Heritage Day.
Our team decked out in the colours of green and gold, did our Kingdom proud, and won to the rapturous applause of the crowds who had flocked into the grounds to support them. The Proteas had won the tournament by defeating the Blackcaps leaving five of our Knights still unchallenged.

Sir Trevor and Lady Cheryl once more had a suckling pig put over the coals, and enjoyed a good repast, accompanied with a red mead named for the Tall Horse.

Our Knight Sir Trevor, travelled to the Valley of the pearl, to assess another predicament, for the Lords of the Privy Purse.

It was a fair valley, known throughout the Old and New Worlds. The valley brought forth wondrous bounties form its soil, in particular mead from the fruits loved by Bacchus, grapes.

Many a barrel had been filled, and then emptied, for not many were able to deny themselves the pleasure of drinking a chalice or more of the wine of the Gods.

Our Knight on his return to the castle, retired very early, much to the consternation of Lady Cheryl, who could not help but wonder if he had enjoyed a tipple or two whilst there.

There had been a surprise visit from the page Barry, yestereve. He had come bearing a gift for Lady Cheryl, from Sir Trevor.

It was a present for her birthday, but our Knight knowing full well the impetuosity of his Lady, deemed it prudent to give it to her well before the time.

He knew our Lady was enthralled by the box with moving pictures, so he had scoured the land for the best there was, but even he was astonished by this one which was portable.

A look of love and benevolence crossed his countenance as watched Lady Cheryl dancing and clapping her hands like a child in pure glee.

He also realised that there would be no retiring to an early bed that night.

Our Knight Sir Trevor, sat in his writing room, penning his reports to the Lords of the Privy Purse.

Looking out of his window over the castle mote, and further to the river rambling past, he was filled with an overwhelming sense of gratification.

Certain it was, that his decision years prior, to leave the realm of his birth, and build his own legacy, here, on this beautiful spot, had been a good one.

Now our Knight and Lady could peruse nature and all around them with a benign smile of happiness.

There was the sound of children filling the air of Sir Trevor and Lady Cheryl's castle yestereve, as our Knight's sister, the Lady Rose, arrived to visit after a long abscence.

The Lady had travelled from the county at the edge of the Mead. Having fallen on hard times of late, the Lady Rose had come seeking the charity of her beloved brother.

In truth she had nought to fret about, as never would this noble Knight stand back, and allow ought to harm her, or her children.

Our Knight was still unforgiving of her husband, Harrold, the Scot, and felt that he had no right to desert his family, in his quest for gold, in far away lands.

It was to be a festive day, which started relatively early in the morn.

Lady Cheryl had travelled to the neighbouring castle, to discuss planting times and ideas with Lady Jowyne. They were soon joined by Lady Linda, who also lived in a castle close by.

Much jollity and gossip mongering were enjoyed by the ladies, as they caught up with the goings on in the realm.

Later in the evening, Sir Trevore and Lady Cheryl departed to attend a gathering of minstrels, being held across the border of the Windy Mountain.

There the minstrals made merry, whilst the ladies giggled together and commented on who had a good turn of ankle.

After a good repast, and wondrous harmonies, it was deemed time to return to their castle and bed down for the night.

Sir Trevor would be missing from the castle for most of the day. He was kept truly busy by the Lords of the Privy Purse.

Already great thought was being given, as to how to honour them at the the end of the year festivities. A delicate matter indeed. Not too much nor too little for each.

Our Lady, Cheryl in the meanwhile, was ensuring that her beloved pet, was groomed, bathed and powdered. Called Sorrocco, after the wind that blew off the Arabian Desert, he certainly put one in mind of the desert. With coat coloured like the desert sands, grey tipped ears and paws. A tail plumed in grey, reminiscent of a shimmering mirage. Lastly, eyes of azure blue as penetrating as the desert sky, he was as royal a cat, as any yet born.

He had been a gift from Sir Trevor to our Lady on the day celebrating her birth. It was often asked if our Knight had aquired him from a Bedouin on one of his many quests.

Yestermorn, Sir Trevor had need to travel to the realm's Naval base, in a town called after a former Governor, Simon.

He was greeted by a spectacular sight. Warships that had seen battle whilst protecting the Kingdoms coasts and seas. Basking in the calm waters of the harbour, and sheltered by the mountains above the bay.

It brought back many a memory of his raucous youth, when he too was part of the tradition of the Highborn, doing duty for their Ruler, in order to learn discipline and code of conduct, which would stand them in good stead in the future.

For sure, much carousing and womanising had been partaken of during off duty hours, and this was seen as part of a youths coming of age.

Many memories flooded into Sir Trevor as he rode Beamer through the thoroughfares of Simonstown.

Another dismal and grey day in the realm of Sir Trevor and Lady Cheryl.

He set out once more on his trusted steed, Beamer, whose reputation of being sure of foot, was certainly the envy of many another Knight, whose steed had broken down, on the long and arduous trails.

Later in the day, Sir Trevor attended a banquet given by one of the Lords of the Privy Purse. Even though he was weary, and would most definitely have preferred to return to his Lady's arms, it was deemed to be good court protocol to make an appearence.

This was a lesson learned long since. Better to currie favour than to spurn a benefactor.

It had been a very busy day, for both our Knight and his Lady.

Sir Trevor had set out early on his trusted steed, Beamer. It would appear that there might be an arsonist in the Kingdom, as there was a sudden rise in fires in the homes of the serfs, as well as in castles of the Lords. Both wealthy and pauper alike were falling victim.

The Lords of the Privy Purse had called on Sir Trevor to investigate these matters, and to ascertain whether it was arson, or negligence on the part of these homeowners.

In the meantime our Lady Cheryl, was attending to a neighbour, The Dowager Lady Constance, whose frailty had debilitated her. Putting out sweet potpourie made from our Lady's own rose petals, and making a light repast, she put it into her picnic basket and set out to do her best to comfort the patient.

16-09-2009

After spending much of his day in his castle, getting rid of pesky irritations, our Knight Sir Trevor, rode Beamer to the shores of the realm.

There beached in the sand like a huge whale, was the cargo ship Selli One. She had taken many days, weeks and months, to travel from the Old World, facing many dangers as she sailed with the tides.

Nothing she had faced thus far could compare with the storm off our coast that had tossed her about like a ragdoll before dumping her on the sandbank.

It had already been noted that this shipwreck was not due to the act of smugglers or pirates, but rather due to the utter incompetence of the captain and his crew.

This time though, Sir Trevor had not been called on to aide as he had done on a previous shipwreck. It was deemed he was far too busy in the Lord Privy's matters.

Yesterday a great festival was held, where Knights gathered, to hold a jousting tournament.

Our Kingdom sent our team of renowned Knights, named after their favourite stag, the Springbok. Carrying their banners of green and gold.

Their opponents were the fierce team of Black Knights, who hailed from the land of the Long grey cloud, far over the waters.

After facing one another in a series of gruelling encounters, testing strength, stamina and skill, our Knights defeated 32 of their adversaries, to 29 of their Knights.

In the end, it was a very close call, but our Knights did us proud. They were given not one but two chalices to celebrate their victory with.

Sir Trevor and his Lady Cheryl, held a wondrous banquet for all in the castle, and toasted the teams success with exotic tipples.

All retired to rest after such an exciting day.

14-09-2009

It was a day of rest yesterday. Many were nursing throbbing heads after partaking of too much mead, in celebration the night before.

Outdoors the weather was most unwelcoming, wet, cold and grey.

Sir Trevor and Lady Cheryl made the decision to remain in their castle, and send off those guests, who had not been able to or indeed fit enough, to return to their own castles the night before.

Sir Trevor, ever diligent, continued with his reports to the Lords of the Privy Purse, whilst Lady Cheryl amused herself with the box of moving pictures.

It was a peaceful day in the realm of Sir Trevor, affording him the much needed time to complete his reports, for the Lords of the Privy Purse.

It always took great diligence from him to ensure that adjustments of loss, were dealt with fairly, so all would be satisfied in the end. Thus, promoting a peaceful Kingdom.

Lady Cheryl, taking advantage of this peace, took herself off to her favourite place of pleasure, Hairven. Here she was indeed pampered. Her hair was bathed in the sweetest soaps. Her troubles were swept away during a healing massage.

Having taken her leave, her tresses shining and swaying down her back, our Lady returned to her Knight, Sir Trevor, that she might enjoy the look of approval in his eyes.

12-09-2009

It was the day before the weekend. A very important day. Lady Cheryl had the task of venturing forth into the marketplace, to buy the weekly provisions for the castle.

Sir Trevor had supplied our Lady with coinage he deemed more than generous for this task. Indeed he found it most advantageous to add a little more, for to be sure, his life had become less burdomsome, since she had taken on this role.

Lady Cheryl had after all, exhibited a simply marvelous knack pertaining to bargain mongering, ever witnessed, and had oft times left him speechless at her audacity.

All this bode well in the running of the castle, for as all knew, a happy and comfortable home is indeed a deserving Knight's right.

A gallant knight, Sir Trevor, was seen yesterday, dressed in his black cloak and riding his silver steed, called Beamer.

He was off on his righteous quest, to aid those who had fallen victim to rascally thieves, who had stolen their hard earned gains, and those others who had bravely survived foul weather and flooded homes.

From the metropolis of Claremont to the home of Lords, Constantia, our Sir Gallahad went about handing our alms and hope to all affected.

On his return to the castle, his loving lady had ensured wondrous vittles were waiting. A roast to feed his hunger, and to quench his thirst, a dram of the best Dimple money could buy.

It had been a most daunting day yesterday.

Our Knight, Sir Trevor, was called upon to, to travel to the New World. It was a world that had been created on a box with moving pictures, and had soon caught the attention of all who saw them.

This place was caled Southfork, in the county of Dallas, situated in the land west of Somerset.

Fortunately the silver steed, Beamer, was bred for stamina and reliability. As such was always quarenteed to deliver Sir Trevor to his destination, and to ensure that our Knight, Sir Trevor would return safely to his Lady Cheryl, who remained at their castle.

Her duty was to fend off potential threats, like the dreaded rat, and to accept entreaties for our Knights attention.
