Castle News

13-09-2009

Yesterday a great festival was held, where Knights gathered, to hold a jousting tournament.

Our Kingdom sent our team of renowned Knights, named after their favourite stag, the Springbok. Carrying their banners of green and gold.

Their opponents were the fierce team of Black Knights, who hailed from the land of the Long grey cloud, far over the waters.

After facing one another in a series of gruelling encounters, testing strength, stamina and skill, our Knights defeated 32 of their adversaries, to 29 of their Knights.

In the end, it was a very close call, but our Knights did us proud. They were given not one but two chalices to celebrate their victory with.

Sir Trevor and his Lady Cheryl, held a wondrous banquet for all in the castle, and toasted the teams success with exotic tipples.

All retired to rest after such an exciting day.

It was a day of rest yesterday. Many were nursing throbbing heads after partaking of too much mead, in celebration the night before.

Outdoors the weather was most unwelcoming, wet, cold and grey.

Sir Trevor and Lady Cheryl made the decision to remain in their castle, and send off those guests, who had not been able to or indeed fit enough, to return to their own castles the night before.

Sir Trevor, ever diligent, continued with his reports to the Lords of the Privy Purse, whilst Lady Cheryl amused herself with the box of moving pictures.
